The honeymoon phase isn’t over for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth—far from! The Hannah Montana alum seems more in love with her new spouse than ever. In fact, one might even say “freakishly obsessed!”
The "Party in the U.S.A." singer, 26, gushed over the actor, 29, after the pair attended the Avengers: Endgame premiere on Tuesday, April 23, in Los Angeles. “I’m literally freakishly obsessed with my husband right now...” she wrote on a photo of her man from the event on Instagram Stories one day later. “Like always has been always will be but RN it’s extra compulsive.”
Cyrus wasn’t kidding—she also shared a video that showed her pretending to lick him as he good-naturedly laughed.
“When he looks good enough to eat,” she wrote alongside playful hashtags such as “#Snack” and “#SugarDaddy.”
Liam appeared to be equally stoked about having his wife by his side on the carpet. The Isn’t It Romantic star also shared a photo from the event on Instagram, writing, “Me and my hot date last night @avengers endgame. An absolute blast of a time!”
In case there was any doubt that their mutual adoration wasn’t just for the cameras, a source told Us Weekly that the pair seemed equally enamored with each other at the after-party in the Los Angeles Convention Center. “Miley and Liam had drinks in hand and never left each other’s side,” the insider revealed.
The twosome, who met on the set of their shared 2010 rom-com, The Last Song, confirmed that they had tied the knot in a December ceremony days after photos of the intimate gathering at Cyrus's home in Tennessee were unintentionally leaked by a family friend.
Hemsworth told Sunday Today in February 2019 that after all their ups and downs together (the couple split several times, most notably in September 2013, only to reconcile two years later), he was more than ready to say his I do's.
“We’ve been through so much together over the last 10 years, so [I] felt like it was time,” he said. “I feel really happy and really fortunate to be with such a great person...It was a really special day.”
Cyrus expressed a similar sentiment to Vanity Fair later that month. “When you experience what we experienced together with someone, it is like glue. You’re the only two people in the world who can understand.”
She elaborated: “The reason that people get married sometimes can be old-fashioned, but I think the reason we got married isn’t old-fashioned—I actually think it’s kind of New Age," she said. "We’re redefining, to be f--king frank, what it looks like for someone that’s a queer person like myself to be in a hetero relationship.”
The Grammy nominee also took her spouse’s last name, as Hemsworth revealed on a February 8 episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan. "Miley Ray Hemsworth now, actually," he noted of his significant other. "She will still be obviously known as Miley Cyrus, but she took my name, which is great. That was honestly one of the best things about it. I didn't ask her to take my name, but she was like, 'No, of course I'm taking your name.' "
