Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino just crossed something pretty major off his to-do list. Gym: check. Tan: check. Laundry: check. Get engaged: big check! Late Thursday night, Sorrentino announced via Instagram that he had proposed to longtime girlfriend Lauren Pesce. Both the Jersey Shore star and his fiancée shared a handful of photos of the proposal, which appears to have taken place on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
The photos show Sorrentino getting down on one knee, lifting Pesce up in the air, and posing with her on a carousel and in front of an arcade. "THE FUTURE MR & MRS SITUATION 🙏🏻🇮🇹" Sorrentino, 35, captioned one of the sweet pics, adding on another, "SHE SAID YES !!! 🙏🏻❤️." Pesce also showed off her gorgeous engagement ring with a selfie on her page; it's a huge, square-cut diamond set in an ornate white gold or platinum band.
And it seems there's a good chance the proposal will air on a future episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, since The Situation told Us Weekly on Thursday, "I have always dreamed of proposing on Jersey Shore, the show that introduced me to the world. I'm currently living the dream and proposed to my college sweetheart, Lauren Pesce, amongst my best friends on the biggest reality show in the country. We are so proud and excited to share this chapter of our story with the world."

Per Us Weekly, after meeting in college, Sorrentino and Pesce dated for four years before The Situation joined the Jersey Shore cast in 2009, then picked up where they left off after the show wrapped, in 2012. Pesce and Sorrentino have been vocal about their lasting support for each other through tough times, including Sorrentino's stint in rehab for prescription drug abuse and his ongoing court battle for tax evasion. "I am so proud of you for all you've overcome & the incredible man you are today. You inspire me every day to be my best and I'm over the moon and filled with emotion that the world is finally able to see your true self at your core. May God continue to bless you, our family, friends & fans forever! Feeling lots of love today!" Pesce wrote to Sorrentino in a heartfelt Instagram post earlier this month, after the premiere of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
