Gym, tan, honeymoon: A month after Jersey Shore's Mike "the Situation" Sorrentino and Lauren Pesce walked down the aisle, the newlyweds are enjoying a peaceful honeymoon together. The couple, who tied the knot at the Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, on November 1, both recently shared shots from their desert honeymoon to social media.
"Hello Honeymooners 🍯 🌵" Sorrentino wrote alongside a selfie of him and Pesce in the mountains. His new wife also posted a snap from the trip, writing "In the desert" next to a photo of herself lounging in the pool. Neither of the two revealed the location of their romantic getaway.
The couple are taking advantage of their time together before Sorrentino serves his eight-month prison sentence for tax evasion starting on January 15. The couple were engaged on Valentine's Day 2018, nine months before Sorrentino received his prison sentence. The couple originally met during a math class while they were in college and rekindled the flame years later.
“We went out together for about four years, and then once Jersey Shore started we decided to take a break throughout seasons one through six,” Sorrentino told People. “Once [the show] was over, we eventually reconnected and have been together ever since, for over four years now.”
The couple's big day included plenty of nods to the groom's reality show. Not only did the guest list include former Jersey Shore cast members, but Sorrentino chose Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, Vinny Guadagnino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro as his groomsmen. The bride and groom also asked Nicole "Snooki" Pelosi's and Jenni "Jwoww" Farley's daughters to be flower girls.
Sorrentino will celebrate the holidays with his wife, and then start his sentence. "He looks forward to completing his sentence and coming home to Lauren, family, and friends,” a rep told People.
