Love was "Everywhere" this weekend, as Michelle Branch wed the Black Keys's Patrick Carney on Saturday night in New Orleans.
The event took place at the Marigny Opera House, where the couple was surrounded by friends and family including their eight-month old son Rhys and Branch's 13-year-old daughter, Owen, People reports. The bride walked down the aisle in a bohemian-style wedding dress with intricate lace detailing, her hair in loose waves that cascaded down her bare shoulders. The chapel was decorated with white flowers and candelabras, and the couple sealed the deal with a romantic kiss as husband and wife in front of their loved ones.
The couple has been together since 2015, when they met for the first time at a Grammy's party. Carney popped the question in 2017, on the eve of Branch's 34th birthday. “Thank you for all the birthday love and wishes. Last night, right before I blew out my candles, Patrick asked me to marry him and then I had nothing left to wish for ... 34 might be the best year yet," the singer wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her ring. They had planned to wed in 2018, but when they found out they were expecting baby Rhys just three months before their wedding date, they decided to hold out until 2019. "Well, we were just about to send out save the dates for our wedding in May when we got this little surprise,” she captioned an Instagram photo of her sonogram video. “Wedding is postponed and Baby Carney is happening this summer! Patrick and I couldn’t be more excited!” And a little over a year later, Rhys got to watch his parents walk down the aisle.
“I’d never had someone who was that supportive,” Branch, who's been married once before, told People of Carney in 2017. “He’s an amazing, amazing human. We both just jumped in with both feet.”
