Actors Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are one of Hollywood's longest running — and most beautiful — couples. The two tied the knot nearly 16 years ago and still look at each other as if it was their wedding day. If there's any couple in Hollywood to obsess over, it's definitely these two — they're constantly gushing over each other, which totally makes us swoon.
The two lovebirds recently walked the red carpet for AARP's Move for GrownUp Awards. Douglas was reminiscing on his career and when he was asked what the highlight of his life in the entertainment industry was. "Right now, it would probably be the Deauville Film Festival in 1999 when I met Catherine. That was the best memory I got," Douglas said to Entertainment Tonight. The actor's answer just solidified that Zeta-Jones is the luckiest women on earth (not that there was much debate).
Zeta-Jones was asked the same but with a career as full as hers; she understandable had some trouble singling out a moment. Douglas stepped in to brag about his wife one more time by casually bringing up her Oscar win for her role in Chicago. The star power between these A-listers would impress anyone well... except the duo's children. "They're teenagers, so they think we're very dumb right now," Zeta-Jones quipped, adding, "And then they'll grow up and go, 'Boy, they learned quick.'"
The two said "I do" at the ultra-glamourous Plaza Hotel in New York City on November 18th, 2000. The blushing bride wore a stunning wedding dress that cost $140,000. The six-figure masterpiece was a custom-made, hand-beaded Christian Lacroix gown that in our opinion was worth every single penny. Zeta-Jones looked like a regal princess in her wedding photos.
Since their over-the-top nuptials the pair has become much more low-key. Case in point? Their 15-year anniversary plans could not have been more normal. "We're going to go see a Broadway show, have a little dinner. Just the two of us," Douglas shared with Entertainment Tonight at the time.
But the couple's relationship hasn't been all Broadway productions and red carpets. After a short split in 2013, Douglas and Zeta-Jones were able to come back together stronger than before. "It took work on both our parts," Douglas told Entertainment Tonight. "I don't think there's much chance of fixing a relationship if one of you is already out the door."
