Congratulations are in order for former Dexter star Michael C. Hall! The actor tied the knot to his longtime girlfriend Morgan Macgregor Monday in a surprise New York wedding, choosing one of Manhattan's most important landmark buildings as the backdrop for their marriage ceremony!
Serving as the quintessential New York backdrop for some of the Big Apple's most memorable weddings (insert Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big's Sex and the City movie wedding here), City Hall has certainly proved to be an iconic landmark in New York nuptials. And when it came to the setting for this Dexter alum's big day, this TV star went with the classic venue. The former Showtime actor and his longtime love said "I do" in the iconic building Monday morning, Us Weekly confirms.
The newly married actor met his new bride in 2012 after recently splitting from ex-wife, actress Jennifer Carpenter. The Six Feet Under actor was under fire for controversy surrounding his former divorce, making headlines back in 2010 when Hall's co-star, Julia Stiles, was targeted for ending the actor's marriage. Stiles later issued a statement denying the affair.
Despite former headlines, the on-screen actor, and his new forever love, have managed to keep their relationship under wraps, making their first public appearance as boyfriend and girlfriend at the 2012 Emmy Awards, according to Us Weekly reports.

Along with Sex and the City's most famous doting duo, these New York City newlyweds have joined an ever-growing list of celebs who chose to have a City Hall wedding. Donning a demure brown suit, bombshell Marilyn Monroe married baseball legend Joe DiMaggio under the roof of San Francisco's City Hall back in 1954. The iconic twosome was later mobbed by paparazzi following their courthouse elopement, posing for what essentially became some of the couple's most memorable photos.
Matt Damon married his wife Luciana during a top-secret New York City Hall ceremony back in 2005, managing a guest list that included a limited number of friends and family, and New York's former Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
But perhaps one of the most stunning town hall weddings of all time goes to British beauty, Keira Knightley and her musician beau, James Righton, who chose the small village of Mazan in Provence as the setting for their low key ceremony back in 2013, where Knightly wore a strapless tulle Chanel dress.
