Last night celebrities and designers united at the 2010 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and gave us a red carpet full of gowns that could go straight from the red carpet to your wedding. Here are some of our favorites:
From left: Taylor "I-Can-Do-No-Wrong" Swift looked like a bohemian-chic garden bride in her off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren gown. We say Diane Kruger's sleek, long-sleeved Calvin Klein gown totally made up for the actress's Oscar miss. Harry Potter star Emma Watson, who certainly was the best-dressed Brown student of the night, successfully continued in her efforts to prove that she isn't a geeky wizard in a one-shoulder gown by Burberry.
From left: Kirsten Dunst was among the eight actresses who wore Gap gowns to the ball. Hers was designed by Rodarte for Gap and will be auctioned off at gap.com/gownauction. Could Tory Burch be the next designer to get in on the wedding scene? Here she wore one of her own designs in bridal white. Joy Bryant looked like she could almost flutter away in this light-as-air gown by Marchesa. —Cari Wolfert
