Looks like Meghan Trainor is finally wedding planning. The singer admitted back in March that she and her fiancé, Daryl Sabara of Spy Kids fame, hadn’t started wedding planning yet, but it sounds like she’s finally getting down to making some plans for her upcoming wedding. The “Dear Future Husband” singer just revealed her latest thoughts on what she wants for her big day—and it sounds like it will be a relaxed event.
"I think I'm just gonna be casual,” Trainor told Entertainment Tonight on Saturday at the iHeartRadio's KIIS-FM Wango Tango concert. “I think I'm just gonna do it in my backyard. I've got a great yard and my manager, like, legally can marry people. Yeah, I just might have my best friend do it and we might just chill and have like a barbecue. I don't know!"
A chill backyard wedding sounds good to us, but these plans are super low-key compared to the reception entertainment this bride-to-be has already locked down. In an interview with ET back in February, Trainor said she would "of course" be inviting her fellow judges from the reality competition show The Four, which includes Sean 'Diddy' Combs, DJ Khaled, and Charlie Walk. "If I am at her wedding, believe me, I will get up on the stage," Diddy said. "I want to make sure I am doing a whole show."
Hopefully Diddy leaves some time in his set for fellow judge DJ Khaled who also wants a part in Trainor’s big day. "I have to [perform]," Khaled said. "First of all, I get to see this amazing relationship grow everyday on set. It's a real relationship...when he proposed, she came to work that week...her fiancé, he's in there, swagged out, he's got a smile from here to here all day. I've never seen that man smile so much."
Even though Trainor and Sabara have the location, the officiant and the entertainment pretty much nailed down, there’s still no update on the wedding date. Wedding planning was originally on hold so Trainor could finish her third studio album, which she said will be released this summer. Until then, this couple is taking a break to just enjoy being engaged.
Back in May, Trainor told ET that her fiancé is her “savior” and introduced her to a healthier lifestyle. "He really changed my life,” she said. “He showed me how working out can be fun. I didn't believe it, but now it's true and it feels so good when you're sore—I love that feeling now, I'm addicted to it. He cooks for me and taught me to cook. I never knew how to cook. He taught me, like, secrets how to make your food taste great but also be healthy for you."
Keep him, girl.
