Here's what he played!

Meghan Markle is a woman who knows what she wants! We already knew that an extraordinary level of planning went into her May 2018 nuptials to Prince Harry on the bride’s part, but according to wedding guest Idris Elba, who also DJ’d the affair, the royal also had a hand in choosing some unexpected details from their evening reception—like her wedding playlist!

The Hobbs & Shaw actor, 46, revealed in a new interview with the BBC’s Radio 1Xtra that the former Suits star, 37, provided him with a list of songs to play at the afterparty.

“A lot of tunes went off,” Elba recalled of the event. “You know, Meghan sent me a playlist.”

Though the “Ballie” singer refused to give too many details out of respect for the couple, he did reveal that there was some “West Coast” music on the list, as well as a classic Whitney Houston jam—“I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”

Elba discussed landing the gig on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February 2019. "Harry and I, we've hung out a couple of times through his dad—his dad's charity the Prince's Trust helped me out as a young actor. So I do a lot of work with them, Harry and Prince William, a few times," he explained. "Harry came to a couple of parties that I DJ'd, and he was like, 'Hey man, what are you doing on the date?' And I was like, 'Nothing.' He goes, 'Hmm, would you DJ at my wedding?' I was like, 'Is this a joke? Are you joking?' And he's like, serious."

Serious, he was: Prince Harry and Meghan cut a rug with 200 guests, including Serena Williams, George and Amal Clooney and Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario, to name a few, at their second reception at Frogmore House following their earlier, more demure luncheon reception, which included a performance by Elton John and an unconventional speech from the bride herself.

In addition to Elba, Us Weekly reported that there was a second DJ on hand to play house music as attendees indulged in a three-course dinner and a “Drinks of the World”-themed bar, which included a ginger and rum cocktail called “When Harry Met Meghan.” (Awww!)

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren’t the only ones who know how to throw a swinging party, however: The Avengers: Age of Ultron star also spoke to the BBC about his own wedding to wife Sabrina Dhowre Elba in April, which lasted three days straight!

“It was one of the most beautiful three days of our lives,” the musician said. “We spent quite a while trying to prep this wedding and we wanted to have our entire family connection—my wife Sabrina has a big family, I have a big family, we have a big network of friends and work, people that work with us—and so we just brought everyone together [to] Morocco, we just had the most amazing time.”

Before saying their “I dos” at the Ksar Char Bagh Hote in Marrakesh on April 26, the pair went all out with a massive rehearsal dinner in at Amanjena. “There was a huge festive party with camels and fire dancers and dancing,” a source told People.

The day after the nuptials, the group was privy to a “festival-inspired” white party.

And the fun didn’t stop there for the bride and groom! Elba and Dhowre took off for a honeymoon safari in Africa, where they stayed at the Singita Grumeti lodges.

Seriously, could he be any cooler? Sigh.
