While some of Meghan Markle's probable wedding-day worries are hard to relate to (impressing the literal Queen of England; ensuring her train doesn't get caught in the carriage wheels; ect.), there are others that are so #relatable. Reportedly, the royal bride-to-be is currently stressing over her and Prince Harry's guest list—particularly, the estranged relatives she has left off it.
Apparently, the bride's estranged family members weren't invited to the royal wedding—and they're making it known. An Us Weekly source revealed that the uninvited—Markle's half-sister Samantha Grant, nephew Tyler Dooley (her half-brother Thomas Markle Jr.’s son), and his mother (her ex-sister-in-law), Tracy—plan on flying to London to be TV wedding correspondents. Rude.
“Meghan is really worried about some these members of her family,” the source told the publication. “She hasn’t spoken to them in years.”
And if becoming a princess wasn't stressful enough, Markle's family has been going to the press to speak about her since the news of her engagement to Prince Harry first broke. “She’s lost sleep over relatives who’ve screwed her over,” the source says. “It’s the one thing she’s struggled with most since meeting Harry, especially after the engagement.”
The source added that “she’s finding it really hard to trust people she meets now.”
This is not the first time that Markle's relatives have had something to say about her relationship. Prince Harry previously said that his relatives were the “family she never had,” which Markle's family adamantly denied. (Although there is no denying that the Fab Four—that's Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince William, and Kate Middleton—is a family anyone would love to be a part of.) Sources added that their relationship has “created rifts between” the Suits star and her family.
While we can totally empathize with pre-wedding family and guest list drama, we imagine that Meghan Markle's situation is just a bit more intense. Can you say, #princessprobs?!
