Meghan Markle hasn't been making very many public appearances lately—technically, she's still on maternity leave and she's keeping engagements to a minimum to spend time with her baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. However, on Saturday, she did have a rare day out with Prince Harry, as the two of them attended several events for the Major League Baseball London Series together.
The couple hung out at a Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees game at London Stadium. which was organized n support of Prince Harry's Invictus Games Foundation. They met with the teams at their clubhouses, and they even got surprise gifts: Each team gave the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tiny custom onesies for Baby Archie.
According to royal correspondent Omid Scobie, Markle was also planning to accompany Prince Harry for lots of other baseball-related activities, including a reception and a first pitch throw with former U.K. and U.S. competitors who have been involved in the Invictus Games Foundation. Markle showed up for the day in a classy, black Stella McCartney black dress and comfortable Aquazzura Deneuve black suede ballet flats. Prince Harry wore a polo with the official Invictus Games logo on it.
Prior to the London Series, Markle had only been out in public a handful of times. She and Prince Harry posed for a private photo-call at Windsor Castle, where Markle spoke for the first time about the experience of becoming a mom and told the world what Baby Archie was like. ("He has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm," she gushed.) Then, a few weeks later, she rode in the same carriage as Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall for the Queen's annual birthday parade, Trooping the Colour.
Let's hope that her day of baseball means she's slowly making her way back into a more consistent schedule of public appearances.
