Meghan Markle is celebrating her very first Mother's Day after giving birth to her son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, last week. She commemorated the occasion by posting a sweet and artistic photo of the baby on the official Duke and Duchess of Sussex Instagram account, which she shares with her husband, Prince Harry.

The image shows what seems to be Markle's hand cupping Archie's tiny toes, and the lengthy caption is dedicated to all the moms of the world who are celebrating Mother's Day on May 12.

"Paying tribute to all mothers today - past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honor and celebrate each and every one of you. Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex," it reads.

The message also includes a line from "Lands," a poem written by Nayyirah Waheed: "my mother was my first country; the first place i ever lived."

Markle is also getting a chance to spend Mother's Day (which already happened in the U.K. on March 22) with her mother Doria Ragland, who arrived in London from California last month to welcome her new grandchild. According to a source who spoke to People, Markle is absolutely thrilled that she gets to spend time with her mom, and she's hanging out with Ragland at her home in Frogmore Cottage.

“She’s super-excited,” the source said. “She and Meghan are so close.” Another person added, "Harry really gets on well with her too... Any new mom wants her own mom around at this time, so it’s great.”

Markle made her first appearance since giving birth during a photo call at Windsor Castle last week, where she gushed about how exciting motherhood has been for her. “It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy," she said. We're guessing things feel even more magical on holidays like these.
