Meghan Markle was anything but your average royal bride. She wasn't about to abandon her feminist beliefs on her big day, and walked halfway down the aisle at St. George's Chapel herself, went on record as a proud feminist in her official royal bio, and delivered her own speech at the royal wedding reception—a first of its kind for royal brides. Now, more details are emerging on just what the Duchess of Sussex allegedly said in her speech at the evening reception at Frogmore House, and her words might bring a tear to your eye.

The Sun is now reporting that Markle actually read a love poem aloud at the reception. Although the publication didn't specify which poem the bride included in her speech, one guest gushed, "Meghan totally stole the show. It was the most special part of the entire day and the most unexpected." And no surprise here: “She read her poem like the professional actress she is."

The source continued, “Most of the room was misty-eyed by the final line. Harry looked so proud and had to wipe away a tear," and added that, "She spoke about their first date and falling in love at first sight. Meghan said she knew she had met her prince from the off and how blessed and lucky she feels to have found such a profound love.”

Previously, royal expert Katie Nicholl shared with Entertainment Tonight that Meghan's speech was "a little bit risqué," considering that royal brides generally don't speak during the wedding reception. "This was a real breach of tradition. Usually the bride doesn't talk. It is, of course, the father of the bride, but seeing there was no Thomas Markle, Meghan decided that she would speak," Nicholl explained, referring to how the bride's father had previously dropped out of the royal wedding. "She is an outspoken, self-proclaimed feminist, and I was told she wanted to have the chance to say in person a very big thank you to the royal family, which is exactly what she did."

Nicholl added that after the bride thanked the royal family (and gave a special shoutout to Prince Charles for eventually joining her for her walk her down the aisle), Meghan allegedly gushed over her husband. "When it came to her new husband, Harry, she said, 'I finally found my prince.' It was very romantic and very sweet," Nicholl said, adding, "I do know that she thanked her mother, not just for being there today, but for being there for her entire life."

And Markle's prince apparently reciprocated his feelings during his own speech. "He referred to her throughout the evening as 'my wife,' which got plenty of cheers," Nicholl said.

Another source of the publication added that Harry also gave a sweet tribute to his late mother. "Harry gave a tearful speech paying tribute to his own mother [Princess Diana] missing from the festivities. He also thanked Meghan’s mother [Doria Ragland] for giving him permission to marry Meghan. He talked about how they made a great team."

Nicholl said that though both the bride and groom gave moving speeches that evening, Prince William's speech took the cake. "[William] managed as best man to get the right tone between the right thing to say about his brother, while giving him a good ribbing," Nicholl said. "So no speech about Prince Harry [is] complete without teasing him mercilessly about his hair. Prince William pointed out that Prince Harry wasn't far behind him when it came to going bald." LOL.
