Don’t freak out, but Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are officially on the ‘gram! On Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their official joint Instagram account. This is bigger than having a baby together, right?!
For their first post on @sussexroyal, the duo (or their social media manager) posted a carousel of images, the first being a shot of their official monogram—a design that blends the first letters of Harry and Meghan's names into one elegant icon, topped with a coronet. “Official Instagram for their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” was penned beneath it.
The rest of the gallery of images gives followers, of which they already of hundreds of thousands, a look at what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be posting on the channel. They've already recapped their travels, the Invictus Games, and some of their official visits.
“Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues,” the first post's caption reads. “We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.”- Harry & Meghan”
Before they had their own account, royal news about both Harry and Meghan, and Prince William and Kate Middleton was pushed out via the Kensington Palace social media accounts. That accounts is now dedicated to only the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Royal Foundation—the first public example of their splitting of the courts. Last month Buckingham Palace announced that Meghan and Harry would be getting a new household separate from Kensington Palace to reportedly "focus on their own philanthropy, humanitarian work, and activism," according to Times.
This Instagram account came just in time. The couple's first child is reportedly due in April, so here's hoping the next “important announcement” will be a baby pic!
