If Meghan Markle and Prince Harry aren't yet on your list of "dream BFFs," allow their latest act of friendship to seal the deal: The royal couple gifted Idris Elba and his new wife, Sabrina Dhowre a £7000 (approximately $7,800) wedding gift.
The Elbas wed in Marrakesh over the weekend, and though Meghan and Harry were unable to make it to the event (Meghan is expected to give birth to the royal baby any day now), they toasted their friends with a piece of artwork by the Connor Brothers, The Daily Mail reports. The picture shows the cover of a 1950s style romance novel, featuring a photo of a woman and the words, "Why fit in when you were born to stand out?" You can see a photo of it here.
The royal couple seemed to have missed out on quite the affair. The 3-day extravaganza included a 'colors of souk’ dinner, a white party, and the wedding itself. Elba memorably attended their wedding last May, where he was a not only a guest but also the DJ. And how did that happen? "Harry and I, we've hung out a couple of times through his dad—his dad's charity the Prince's Trust helped me out as a young actor. So I do a lot of work with them, Harry and Prince William, a few times," the actor explained to Ellen Degeneres. "And Harry came to a couple of parties that I DJ'd, and he was like, 'Hey man, what are you doing on the date?' And I was like, 'Nothing.' He goes, 'Hmm, would you DJ at my wedding?' I was like, 'Is this a joke? Are you joking?' And he's like, serious." So naturally, the Duke and Duchess decided to repay the favor with a pretty pricey present.
Now, just wondering—how do the rest of us get them on our invite lists?
