The Queen turns 93 this year, and her public birthday celebrations kicked off this weekend with the annual Trooping the Colour parade. This is a formal event that brings the royals together, and it's such an important occasion that Meghan Markle joined in, marking her first appearance in public since she gave birth to Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor last month.

On Saturday morning, the Duchess Of Sussex was photographed riding in the same carriage as Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. She showed up in an elegant navy gown by Clare Waight Keller, the artistic director of Givenchy who was behind her bridal dress. She paired the look with a matching blue hat by Noel Stewart.

Markle attended Trooping the Colour last year as well, just after her royal wedding at Windsor Castle. For that celebration, she chose to wear a pink off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress and a Philip Treacy headpiece. The dress caused a bit of stir because the neckline was less formal than what Princess Diana and Kate Middleton had worn to the event in the past.

The parade was the first time Markle has appeared in a public setting since the baby was born; the last time we saw her was during an interview at Windsor Castle that she and Prince Harry only opened to select members of the media. The new parents posed with Baby Archie for the first time and answered questions about how the early days of parenthood had been.

“It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy,” Markle said.

Apart from the photocall, the Duchess of Sussex has kept a low profile. She's reportedly had visitors like Serena Williams greet the baby, but her schedule has been largely clear of royal engagements. Still, she reportedly is someone who dives into work, so there's no doubt we'll her back in the public sphere more often in no time.
