The year might be coming to an end, but things are just picking up for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry who are a patiently awaiting the arrival of their first child. It was only a few months ago that the royal couple revealed they are expecting, but according to this momma-to-be the wait is nearly over.
The Duchess of Sussex revealed the news when talking to fans on Christmas day after attending a Christmas day service at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham Estate in King’s Lynn, England, according to Entertainment Tonight.
According to Twitter, photographer Karen Anvil asked Markle if she was excited—presumably about becoming a mom—and the royal's response pretty much started the due date countdown.
“We’re nearly there,” Markle said as she cradled her baby bump. When the news of the pregnancy first broke in October, the official statement from Kensington Palace said the baby was due in Spring of 2019, but according to Markle this bundle of joy might come sooner than expected.
With the due date apparently rapidly approaching, we hope these first time parents are ready. In addition to being mentally and emotionally prepared they’ve got to be physically prepared, which may pose a problem as Markle and Harry are in the middle of a home renovation.
Earlier this year Kensington Palace confirmed that the couple would be moving out of the Palace and into Frogmore Cottage on Queen Elizabeth II's Windsor Estate in early 2019 "as they prepare for the arrival of their first child." Unfortunately their new digs were not move in ready and they have been busy upgrading the space. When everything is done, the new home will include 10 bedrooms, a gym, a yoga studio and a separate nursery. According to People, they will redo the landscaping and update the former staff residences as part of their new dwelling as well. The Sun reports that the renovation could cost up to a few million pounds.
