It was the wedding day look seen 'round the world—Meghan Markle's timeless bridal ensemble was viewed by millions during her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry. From her minimal makeup and effortless hairstyle to her classic long sleeve gown, the fashion-forward Duchess of Sussex has undoubtedly ignited a trend or two among modern brides alike. In fact, it seems that even another newly minted royal has taken heed of the notorious Meghan Effect for her own nuptials.
That's right, we're seeing double within the royal wedding sphere. Princess Deniz of Bavaria (formerly known as Deniz Kaya) married Prince Konstantin on September 1 in St. Moritz, Switzerland—while bearing striking resemblance to Meghan Markle's bridal look from three months prior. Starting with her wedding gown, Princess Deniz opted for a long-sleeve, boat-neck number that gives us major flashbacks to the silhouette of Meghan's Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy dress, albeit the lace material.
As for beauty, Princess Deniz may also have taken a cue from the Duchess of Sussex, going for a completely natural, barely-there makeup regimen. But, it's perhaps her middle-parted low bun that screams "Meghan Markle" the most, even down to the hair color.
The royal brides did differ in the headpiece department, however. While Meghan resorted to Queen Mary's Diamond Bandeau Tiara, Princess Deniz walked down the aisle sporting only a veil (which, unsurprisingly, also featured floral embroidery similar to Meghan's).
Although Kate Middleton recently one-upped Meghan as eBay's “top royal style influencer” of the year (sorry, Meg), there's truly no denying this Duchess' consistent influence on the fashion industry, from fellow royals to the rest of us commoners. We can't wait to see which prominent bride will #SparkleLikeMarkle on her big day next, chignon and all.
