With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's impending nuptials fast approaching, the bride-to-be has had to jump through a lot of proverbial hoops in order to solidify her position in the royal family. Before she walks down the aisle, Markle will have become a member of the Church of England, passed a United Kingdom citizenship test, and thoroughly researched the royal family's ancestry. And it seems like the apple does not fall far from the tree—Markle's dad was spotted doing some research of his own ahead of the royal wedding.
Thomas Markle was recently photographed sitting in a Starbucks, pouring over some light reading about England. His educational text of choice? Images of Britain: A Pictorial Journey Through History, a book written in 1990 and currently available on Amazon. Thomas is clearly taking his responsibilities as father of one of England's most prominent figures seriously; the look of concentration and curiosity on his face says it all.
For his part, Thomas seems ecstatic about his daughter's relationship with Prince Harry. "I think it’s wonderful," he told The Sun of the upcoming wedding earlier this year. "I’m very delighted. I think they’re [a] very good match, I’m very happy for them, Meghan and Harry. I love my daughter very much—Harry’s a gentleman."
Despite some rumors stating otherwise, it seems that Thomas will indeed be on hand to walk his daughter down the aisle next month. However, it has been reported that he will not give a speech and Meghan herself will instead make a toast. At least Thomas will be prepared to discuss British history when he meets his new in-laws.
