Meghan Markle turns 38 on August 4; This birthday will mark her first year as a mom and her first full year as an official royal. To honor the big occasion, it looks like the Duchess of Sussex will be celebrating alongside none other than the Queen, who has reportedly invited her and Prince Harry to her beloved Balmoral estate in Scotland.
Sources tell The Sun that the special birthday trip is going to include Markle and Prince Harry's new baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, whom the Queen looks forward to spending time with. The family will have their own wing at the estate, and they'll join the Queen and her husband Prince Philip for afternoon tea sessions.
"The Queen and Prince Philip adore the couple and, of course, their new great-grandson Archie, and they have invited them to Balmoral for a few days," the source said. “It is testament to Meghan that she has been given this invite. It’s a huge honor."
Plus, the Queen reportedly has some special birthday plans in the works for Markle: "They will celebrate Meghan’s birthday, and the catering team will bake a cake to mark the occasion," the source added.
Last year for her birthday, Markle was busy attending the wedding of Prince Harry's longtime friends Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks. Still, she somehow found the time to write thank you notes to everyone who had wished her a happy birthday, proving yet again that she's the absolute queen of class. This upcoming birthday seems like it's going to be a little more laid-back, given that the Duke and Duchess are still getting used to parenthood. But having such intimate time planned with the Queen seems like an incredible way to ring in 38.
“Meghan may be a Duchess who can have anything she wants but the Queen is giving her a thoughtful present," the source told The Sun. "It’s no secret Balmoral is Her Majesty’s favourite home and that’s why this invite is so special and heartfelt.”
