In case you had any doubts that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are absolutely adorable together (why would you?), we now have video proof. The Telegraph has released video footage captured by the BBC of the just-engaged couple goofing off behind the scenes of their sit-down interview, and it’s clear how much fun they have together. In the clip, they laugh together, mock each other’s gestures, and are super affectionate (or, at least, "super affectionate" by British royalty standards).
At one point, Meghan playfully rests her chin in her palm as Prince Harry talks, her smile never wavering. Sure, it’s just a peek behind the curtain, but it’s nice to see the future duke and duchess let their hair down, so to speak, and relax. After more than a year of dating, they’re clearly still smitten with each other, and, frankly, I think we could all use some good news these days.
Watch the adorable video below. (It lacks audio since it was either before or after they had been mic’ed.)
In the aired interview, Markle explained that the proposal itself was also low-key. It happened while they were "trying to roast a chicken and it just—just an amazing surprise, it was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee," she said. And her answer was super quick. "She didn’t even let me finish, she said, 'Can I say yes, can I say yes’ and then were was hugs," said Prince Harry, adding, "I had the ring in my finger and I was like, 'Can I—can I give you the ring?’ She goes, 'Oh, yes, the ring.'"
Oh, yes, the ring. A yellow-gold band with a center diamond from Botswana, where the couple spent time together early in their relationship, and two diamonds from Prince Harry’s mother Diana’s collection. Sorry if saying #couplegoals is mad cliché, but if the ring fits…
