Female rap legend and co-founder of the Hip Hop Sisters Foundation Lana “MC Lyte” Moorer is married!
The pioneering woman rapper tied the knot this weekend in Montego Bay, Jamaica, to her now husband, Marine Corp veteran and entrepreneur, John Wyche.
“It’s incredible so many people came out to support our union. We are starting out with a strong foundation,” Wyche said. “A few months into getting to know Lana I knew I wanted this woman as my wife.” Swoon.
MC Lyte said she came to a similar realization as she got to know Wyche. “One day when we're talking and I looked into his eyes. It was so much honesty and truth in his eyes,” Lyte said in the interview. “My biggest thing with dating was to be vulnerable. And with him, I could totally let go and be myself.”
As for how the the couple met?
“I met my fiancé online,” MC Lyte told Essence. She reached out to him on Match.com, and their relationship took off shortly there after. (So keep swiping, ladies!)
MC Lyte posted to her Instagram account shortly after the big day, captioning the photo, "Today marks the blessing of FOREVER. #exhale #myking"
It just goes to show you, don't knock online dating until you try it. Like MC Lyte, you might just meet your 'king.'
