When Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves tied the knot this weekend, they found a way to perfectly blend Hollywood glamour and laid-back, Texan style for a day that was truly their own. Married in a sunset ceremony on their sprawling Austin property, McConaughey donned a black three-piece Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo and the newly minted Mrs. McConaughey stepped out in Stuart Weitzman heels and a wedding gown handmade by a favorite Brazilian designer, according to People.
The couple of six years and parents to two tossed several wedding traditions to the wind, skipping the cake—they offered a variety of desserts instead—and their first dance. (Fear not, the celeb duo still boogied down alongside guests to American pop and Brazilian rock hits played by a live band.) The newlyweds also opted not to recite their vows aloud in favor of intimately whispering them to each other during the ceremony. Though guests couldn't hear the words exchanged, Camila was teary-eyed and clearly moved, reported Us Weekly. The ceremony also included a song based on a bible verse performed wedding guest John Cougar Mellencamp. Other celebrity guests included Woody Harrelson, Reese Witherspoon, Jim Toth, and Meg Ryan.
The couple's nearest and dearest were invited to camp on the McConaugheys' property during the three-day celebration—but weren't really required to rough it. Special tents pitched for the big day were air conditioned and stocked with gourmet goodies. Not that much shut-eye was to be had! Guests reportedly kept the party going until the wee hours and woke Sunday to a southern-inspired meal featuring crawfish, brisket, and fried okra prepared by celebrity chef Guy Fieri.
