Between flashing her 35-carat engagement ring every chance she gets (wouldn't you?), a recent world tour, and now a standing gig at Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace, how in the world does Mariah Carey find time for wedding planning? But more importantly... Where in the world are Carey and her Australian billionaire beau planning to tie the knot?! Rumors have been swirling ever since James Packer popped the question that the nuptials will be taking place in an array of over-the-top "I do" locales around the world. (We personally vote for Australia's Hayman Island, where the groom will reportedly be shuttling guests to and from on his personal private jets. Yup...) Well, Carey has recently narrowed down the potential venues, crossing one distinct possibility off of our list.
Mariah Carey has a 35-carat rock on her finger for goodness sakes — you don't interview an over-the-top, ever-opulent someone like that in just some boring old chair. That's why during her recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the talk show host opted to interview Carey somewhere the Grammy-winning diva would be a bit more comfortable — in a bubble-filled bathtub, complete with glasses of champagne. Oh and she was dressed in a floor-length glitzy evening gown. Because duh.
Once Carey was comfy however, Kimmel got down to the nitty gritty, asking about what we were dying to know — the wedding plans. Maybe the songstress will be a little less stingy with the big day details after a few glasses of champagne served by some shirtless hunks?
"You are engaged, as I know, to an Australian billionaire," eased in Kimmel, bringing up the singer's fiancé. "I don't know what you're talking about," the ever-cool Carey joked. But Kimmel bravely soldiered on, inquiring about the couple's upcoming nuptial plans. Considering Carey's current Las Vegas residency and the City of Light's reputation for the over-the-top, will the pop diva be saying "I do" on the Strip?
"No, darling, no," she replied, totally shutting down the potential Vegas venue. So no Elvis impersonator officiant then, Carey (another expert suggestion by Kimmel)? "That'll be fun," the talk show host insisted. "Uh no," said Carey. "I don't think so."
Looks like Packer and the "We Belong Together" singer will be telling the world that they, do indeed, belong together, elsewhere. And considering Carey's past "I do" destinations — the Bahamas sand with Nick Cannon and a ritzy New York City venue with record producer Tommy Mottola — nowhere is off limits this time around!
