When you're in paradise, first comes love and then comes marriage! Bachelor in Paradise contestants Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul met and got engaged during the first season of the ABC reality series last year, and last night, we got to see their romantic beachfront wedding during the show's second-season premiere.
As the new batch of contestants got settled in Mexico, host Chris Harrison ushered them down to a romantic, waterfront ceremony setup, where, to their surprise, Marcus and Lacy's wedding began. After her family took their seat, Lacy walked down the aisle in a lace wedding dress with a high slit and a plunging neckline by Mac Duggal. Her groom donned a light-colored suit and his emotions right on his sleeve.
"Marcus and I met on Bachelor in Paradise; that's where our solid foundation started," Lacy told People of their decision to get married on the show's set in Playa Escondida in Sayulita, Mexico. "We thought, 'Why not start the next chapter of our lives there as well?'"
Naturally, Harrison officiated the ceremony, which was an easy decision for the newlyweds. "He is a man known for love, so who better to do that?" Lacy said.
They exchanged heartfelt vows at the altar, which brought tears to the eyes of many contestants. "Marcus and I spent a lot of time thinking about what we wanted to say," Lacy said of their self-penned words. "They are all very personal, so when he started saying them, I was bawling!"
Now that their wedding is in the books (and on TV), Lacy is basking in the honeymoon period. "I love everything about Marcus," she said. "He is patient and kind, and he has such a soft heart."
