On Sunday, while attending the Rape Foundation's annual brunch in Beverly Hills alongside her This Is Us castmates, Moore spoke to InStyle about her upcoming nuptials. "Life is pretty good," she said of engaged life, adding that she had "no complaints right now." And although she's started thinking about the wedding, Moore said it definitely won't be an over-the-top event. "I don't think I'm going to have a big old affair," she said. "So I think it will be small and quiet and private."
The actress said that her desire to keep her personal life "quiet and private" comes from living the last two decades in the spotlight. "I'm really lucky. My job allows me to get dressed up and take pictures and be the center of attention in a way that makes me slightly uncomfortable that I don't know if I—I've never dreamed of emulating that in my real life," she said. "So I think I'll probably take the opposite route when it comes to getting married."
She continued, "I think I've never dreamed about a wedding, or a dress, or any of those details, and no judgment on women that do. I get it, but I don't think it's my job, necessarily. I kind of feel like I was always just who I was."
Moore, 33, and Goldsmith, the 32-year-old frontman for indie band Dawes, got engaged in early September. A source told E! News at the time that although Goldsmith was "petrified" before popping the question, both were "so happy" after Moore said yes. Since then, Moore has been spotted wearing her "understated" and "very Mandy" engagement ring and has celebrated her engagement with just a few of her closest girlfriends at a late lunch at Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.
The Tangled star, who was previously married to musician Ryan Adams from 2009 to 2015, recently opened up about how she'll do things differently the second time around. "I was like, 'I know I actually already did this once before, but I eloped and I didn't have a wedding dress, so maybe if I do round two one day,'" she told People in February. "Wearing a wedding dress for that episode [of This Is Us] kind of shifted my mind-set on wearing a proper wedding dress. I was like, 'I kinda feel like I have to do this in real life now.'"
