Ah, how we love a good proposal story. Whether it's a simple scavenger hunt or a thousand-mile-high hot air balloon proposal, these sweet moments always seem to put tears in our eyes. But for one very unlucky man in Maryland, a dreamy waterfall proposal turned from oh-so sweet to oh-so horrifying after he accidentally dropped his girlfriend's engagement ring in the moving water.
Isaiah Adams was taking a photo with his longtime love, Grace, when he surprised her by dropping down on one knee and pulling out — what we assume is — a gorgeous diamond ring. The stunning scenery at Cunningham Falls State Park made the perfect backdrop for his dreamy proposal, and we can imagine it made for some pretty epic photos. In the video, Grace is seen covering her mouth with her hands once she realizes what's going on, and then she excitedly accepts his grand proposal by giving him a kiss and a big hug. As a crowd cheers in the background, we find ourselves getting a little emotional from this sweet gesture. That is, until Grace tries to place the ring on her finger and the couple winds up losing the bling in the waterfall itself. They begin scrambling to find it, but in the end, realize it's too late.
"I was crying with happiness but then I was crying with fear at the same time," Grace told Inside Edition about the botched proposal. "I looked up and his face was just shock."
Though their search for the engagement ring was unsuccessful, the two are still super excited to start planning their wedding together. And can you imagine the jokes that'll be made at this couple's reception?! We bet their guests will LOSE IT. Ha, get it? We crack ourselves up.
The moral to the story: stay far, far away from any bodies of water whilst proposing if you're a self-proclaimed clutz. Actually better yet, just stick to dry land altogether.
