What usually comes to mind when you think of a flower girl? You might be picturing your little sister or niece, in the cutest gown, walking down the aisle as she happily tosses rose petals. Well, there's a new twist to this wedding tradition. Introducing Patrick Casey, the owner of a public relations firm in Appleton, Wisconsin. Growing up, he and his cousin Andria were tight; they even walked down the aisle as ring bearer and flower girl when they were kids.
So, Andria gets engaged, and she wants to include her favorite cousin in the wedding party. Was he a bridesman? Nah. Andria requested that Patrick serve as her flower girl, err, man. Of course, Patrick agreed, and judging by the photos, he took his role VERY SERIOUSLY. To pay homage to the wedding they were in, he even carried the same basket used way back when.
Some guests were, naturally, shocked by Patrick's entrance, but they couldn't help but laugh it off. "I'm pretty sure they were won over when I got to the end of the aisle and then proceeded to pull out flowers I had stocked in my pants' pockets and did a LeBron powder toss with them," he told BuzzFeed. "There was an ovation."
Even better? If you want to book Patrick as your flower man (brides, we definitely think you should consider!), he's totally up for it. "I'd argue that commemorating the (likely) most important day of your life up until that point with some levity is a good thing!" Patrick continued. "I suppose it's also possible (if extremely unlikely) that there are usually many children up for the job who are a lot cuter than me."
One very smart guest caught the epic moment on video, and you can take a peek at it below. Think Patrick did a good job? Remember, he's for hire!
