It would appear that country heartthrob Luke Bryan is the total package—he's got the looks, the vocal talent, the charm, and, as of recently, total power as a judge on American Idol. Not to mention he just released his sixth studio album, What Makes You Country, on December 8, which also happened to fall on the same day as his eleventh wedding anniversary to his wife, Caroline. To ensure that this milestone wasn't overlooked, Luke revealed his humorous side (yet another dreamy aspect) in a social media anniversary message to his leading lady.
These days, most celebs post a photo or two of their significant other with a few heart emojis to commemorate their wedding anniversaries. But not Luke Bryan. The 41-year-old took this one step further, compiling a series of photos to create a short, 15-second Flipagram video. And, these aren't just any old photos. Sure, the video features cute shots of the couple and their family, but naturally Luke also had to throw in some comic relief, with images like a gorilla flipping off the camera (perhaps an inside joke?), a photo of Caroline pretending to strangle him, and a solo shot of Luke shirtless wearing a lei with flowers in his hair. (If anything, you need to watch the video just for that.)
The post wasn't all fun and games—Luke still managed to stay on the sweet side with "Happy Anniversary" by Little River Band playing in the background, which sings, "Happy anniversary, baby I've got you on my mind." The last shot of the video also features a photo of an anniversary-worthy dessert, with a few chocolate strawberries on a plate that reads "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate syrup. Now, that's more like it.
Luke wrote "Love you baby. Happy Anniversary," to accompany the Instagram post, tagging his wife's account. Caroline also shared the video on her own Instagram, captioning it, "Happy 11th anniversary! Love you, love you, love you." While we're all for the mushy anniversary shoutouts, we think this humorous mix of sappy and sassy might just take the cake.
Luke and Caroline were college sweethearts, beginning their budding romance as students at Georgia Southern University. Since then, the lucky lady has been the subject of many of her singer-songwriter husband's major swoon-worthy hits, including 2015's "To The Moon And Back." Could this be more #couplegoals!?
The duo has two sons, Bo, 9, and Tate, 7. Luke and Caroline also took in their teenage nieces and nephew, Kris, Jordan, and Til, after their father tragically passed away in 2014. Their mother, Luke's sister, Kelly, died in 2007. "We never thought twice about it," Caroline told ABC News regarding raising the three teens. "You know, it was never something that he and I had to sit down and talk about, you know, should we take this on? We just did it." Adding family-focused hero to Luke's impressively long list of superb qualities.
Happy anniversary to this Country Strong couple! We're looking forward to what next year's anniversary brings for our social-media-viewing pleasures.
