Pernille Teisbaek’s Stylish Wedding Off the Coast of Denmark

To say we're obsessed with this wedding would be an understatement.

When a fashion stylist gets married, you know the dress is going to be good—and Pernille Teisbaek's pearl-embellished Vera Wang gown is no exception. Last month, Pernille, the Scandinavian stylist behind Look de Pernille and cofounder and creative director of the influencer talent agency Social Zoo, married Philip Lotko, the cofounder of Rains, a Danish clothing line. And (lucky for us!), the couple—who originally met a music festival in Denmark and were engaged in Tulum five months later—shared their picture-perfect wedding album with Vogue.

Pernille and Philip's big day took place on the island of Bornholm in the bride’s home country of Denmark. “It goes by the name ‘the sunshine island’ as there are more sunny days there than anywhere else in Denmark,” she told Vogue. “I visited many times during my childhood and really have a special connection to the island.” (And with a landscape like this, we can see why!) The couple enlisted Jeremy Solomon of By Jeremy to execute the logistics but handled the planning and creative aspects themselves. And, of course, part of that vision was the bride's dream dress. Keep reading to see photos of the stunning Vera Wang gown and hear all about their special day, which took place with only their closest friends and young son!

The fashion stylist, of course, had a vision of what she would wear on her wedding day. “Many years ago, I saw this stunning white lace wedding dress by Alexander McQueen, and I knew I wanted something similar,” she told Vogue. “I lost the photo, so I was searching everywhere trying find something similar. I spoke to several amazing designers about other ideas, but couldn’t get it out of my mind.” Luckily, while searching online (as all brides do!), Pernille found a photo of the dress she wanted to wear on a random Tumbler page. The gown was Vera Wang and, thankfully, from the current season. Pernille explained, “I contacted Vera, and one day later, the dress was suddenly in the making without my even trying it on as I was super pregnant at the time and couldn’t fly anywhere. At the time, I wouldn’t have been able to fit in it anyway!”

But, three months after giving birth to her son, the embellished gown did fit like a glove. Pernille accessorized with a cathedral-length veil by Gudnitz Couture, pearl earrings by Celine, an ankle chain by Sophie Bille Brahe, and a custom pearl-encrusted belt, also by Gudnitz Couture. The final addition was her Manolo Blahnik heels, which were custom-made to match the lace of her gown.

Inside a picturesque chapel, the bride and groom exchanged personal vows they'd written themselves, which, according to the bride, is an unusual practice in Denmark. “Typically, it’s done in a speech in the evening instead,” she said. “But, we thought it would be so romantic to do it in the church in front of each other and all of our guests. It was one of the most magical moments of my entire life.”

The newlyweds posed for pictures after their flower-filled exit from the chapel, which was set on the top of a hill. Also, we must mention: How dapper does Philip look in his Tom Ford three-piece suit and shades?!

Once at the reception, which took place in the garden of Hotel Nordlandet, the bride took time to play with their baby son, who was dressed in an adorable cream cardigan.

Next came the traditions: The cutting of the cake and tossing of the bridal bouquet! “We decided to cut our wedding cake and do the traditional wedding dance in the afternoon, as it felt more intimate,” Pernille explained. And as chance would have it, the bride's best friend caught the bouquet. "She's next!" she said.

After Aperol spritzers and plenty of daytime excitement, the celebration transitioned into evening with a formal dinner inside the hotel. Tables were beautifully dressed, by A Table Story, with metallic flatware, crystal goblets, and bundles of wildflowers (on place settings and in unique, organic-looking centerpieces).

But the party, toasts, and dancing didn't stop with dinner. The happy couple had a surprise: a reenactment of Uma Thurman and John Travolta’s dance challenge from Pulp Fiction along to “You Can Never Tell” by Chuck Berry. “It was super corny, but it really kicked things off,” Pernille told Vogue, laughing.
