R&B singer LeToya Luckett is officially married! On Sunday, the former Destiny's Child artist said "I do" to Tommicus Walker, a Dallas-area entrepreneur. The pair hosted an intimate gathering of friends and family at Villa Antonia, a mansion in Texas hill country, just northwest of Austin.
Luckett and Walker planned this wedding pretty quickly—they got engaged in August, when Walker popped the question at what was supposed to be his surprise birthday party. Shortly after, Luckett posted a ring selfie, showing off an impressive rock and a slew of excited hashtags.
On Sunday, just four months after their engagement, Luckett donned a Vera Wang wedding dress to walk down the aisle. “Vera Wang graciously allowed me to add a few touches to my dress as my own addition,” Luckett told Essence Magazine.
The wedding's color scheme was simple: white and black, with red accents. Luckett paired the trumpet dress with a red lip, teardrop earrings, and a cathedral veil cascading from her signature finger waves. Walker matched her with a white dinner jacket, black bowtie, and a single red rose with baby's breath on his lapel. Luckett's bridesmaids wore long black dresses in a mixture of styles.
Luckett's best friend Eudoxie Bridges, wife to rapper Ludacris, was one of two matrons of honor, and Walker's brothers, Tamarcus and Treoun, shared the best man responsibilities.
As expected, the wedding had more than a few special guests on the list, including Ludacris, Luckett's former bandmate Latavia Roberson, and gospel artist Michelle Williams (also a Destiny's Child alum, though she and Luckett were never in the group at the same time). R&B singer Tank crooned "At Last" as Luckett walked down the aisle.
The bride later changed into a floor-length white dress with high slits that showed off her lacy garter. The sheer top and satin buttons flowed into a long cape that draped around her arms. A video showed Luckett dancing the night away, the life of the party at her reception—as she should be!
Congratulations to these newlyweds!
