It's no secret Lauren Conrad shot to fame thanks to reality television, but as of late she's made a name for herself by becoming a go-to for all-things weddings. With her own big day to William Tell behind her, Conrad is now sharing some of her biggest bridal style and planning tips to help engaged girls make their own way down the aisle.
For brides-to-be thinking about the mismatched bridesmaid-dress trend, Conrad suggests you find the perfect balance in lengths. "I personally like long dresses," Conrad said at a recent event in Chicago according to People. "I definitely wouldn't go too short and I think if you're mixing, like a tea length and maxi, I probably wouldn't go full maxi and a mini. Also, it depends on the venue."
As for achieving a cohesive look between your mother and future mother-in-law, Conrad suggests sitting down with each important lady before they shop. "I remember my mother-in-law told me, when she was picking out the dress, she said, 'I know my job. Show up, shut up and wear beige.'"
For favors, Conrad went full DIY — not that it's much of a surprise considering she and a friend baked each of the 50 apple pies that were served for dessert! "Apple pie is my very favorite dessert to bake and eat, and I just couldn't imagine serving our guests anything else," Conrad said. To end the evening, she and Tell passed out game night-inspired wooden boxes with candy, pencils and papers, and fun card games.
