Lance Bass is all about weddings these days. A newlywed himself, with an E! wedding special called Lance Loves Michael airing on February 5, Bass is also planning to act as an ambassador for a mass LGBT wedding in Fort Lauderdale Beach on the same day his show hits the small screen.
The event appropriately named "Love is Love," hosted by Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, will marry 100 LGBT and straight couples at sunrise. The ceremony will be officiated by Reverend Dr. Durrell Watkins of the Sunshine Cathedral. Couples tying the knot are flying to Florida from all over the world, calling places like London, Italy and South America home.
"Lance shares the same pioneering spirit of advocating for LGBT equality that we embody here in Greater Fort Lauderdale," Nicki Grossman, president and CEO of the Visitors Bureau, said in a statement to NBC 6. "We're thrilled to have him be part of our historic moment on the same day he shares his own personal wedding with the world."
Speaking of Lance Bass and weddings, new details about his own wedding emerged today. Turns out, he's such a romantic, that one of his reception's entrees included a heart-shaped single-serving of lasagna.
Catered by Robert Earl, owner of Bass and Turchin's favorite restaurant Buca di Beppo, the heart-shaped dish was a total surprise to everyone — even the newlyweds themselves! "It was my suggestion to do something romantic for their special day," Earl told People of the entree. "They actually didn't know that we had made the lasagna in the shape of a heart, so I was able to surprise them during the tasting and they absolutely loved it." How sweet!
