He's getting hitched! Congratulations are in order for Lance Armstrong, who just got engaged to longtime girlfriend Anna Hansen. The couple announced the news via Instagram, where Hansen is seen rocking a diamond sparkler on THAT finger!
"She said..... YES!!!!" Armstrong underneath the photo, which shows their wide-eyed smiles.
Armstrong and his bride-to-be were introduced nearly a decade ago, in 2008 to be exact, and are parents to son Max, 7, and daughter Olivia, 8. The athlete dad is also parent to kids Luke, 17, and twins Grace and Isabelle, 15, with ex-wife Kristin Richard.
This wouldn't be the first time Armstrong popped the question, though. The 45-year-old cyclist was previously engaged to singer Sheryl Crow, whom he dated for a little over three years. Five months into the engagement, the exes unfortunately decided to end their relationship. The demise of the relationship seemed to be due to bad timing, as Armstrong recalled during an interview with Howard Stern in March.
"It was a good ride. She’s a great lady. Obviously it didn’t work out, but I think and I hope she’s happy," he recalled at the time. "She wanted marriage, she wanted children; and not that I didn’t want that, but I didn’t want that at that time because I had just gotten out of a marriage, I’d just had kids. Yet we’re up against her biological clock — that pressure is what cracked it."
“It’s tough to pull it off. I mean, how many couples have been able to pull it off?” he noted. “To her credit, she was a stay-at-home -- one of the biggest rockstars -- but she was a great partner. She was at the races. It wasn’t like we never saw each other. It was a good ride. She’s a great lady. Obviously it didn’t work out, but I think and I hope she’s happy. I’m happy."
