When you're a world-famous pop superstar like Lady Gaga, it's not very hard to lock down a wedding singer. Still, we can't help but be a little jealous of whom she officially snagged — none other than music legend (and her Cheek to Cheek collaborator) Tony Bennett!
Bennett confirmed the rumor to Page Six while chatting about his colleague's upcoming wedding to fiancé Taylor Kinney at the First Time Fest closing party last night. "She's marrying a very wonderful man, very talented and very handsome," he said. "I think he's going be highly successful in films. He's a very nice person."
And as for his new role as wedding singer? "They invited me to do it and, of course, I will," he added. Much to our chagrin, he wouldn't divulge any other details about the nuptials, which are reportedly going to happen at Gaga's Malibu mansion this year.
"All I know is, knowing Lady Gaga, it will be fabulous," he stated slyly when asked.
Bennett will presumably be one of the best celebrity wedding singers in recent memory, but his performance will also be extra meaningful for Gaga, who credits him with reviving her passion for recording. "I was so sad," she told Parade in September of her disappointment after her album ARTPOP failed to live up to expectations. "I couldn't sleep. I felt dead. And then I spent a lot of time with Tony. He wanted nothing but my friendship and my voice... The other day, Tony said, 'I've never once in my career not wanted to do this,' It stung. Six months ago I didn't feel that way. I tell Tony every day that he saved my life."
