Lady Gaga celebrated her 30th birthday on Saturday with a blowout bash featuring the crème de la crème of Hollywood, including Taylor Swift, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen (after attending her own epic baby shower earlier that day) and, of course, Gaga's fiancé Taylor Kinney. But was Mother Monster and her Chicago Fire actor love also celebrating another monumental milestone?! These photos (below) of Gaga and Kinney wearing matching wedding bands are forcing us to wonder if this 30th birthday bash doubled as a wedding reception.
In a glamorous gold-sequined Saint Laurent minidress with large, puffy sleeves, accessorized with an oversized black belt and leather platform pumps, Gaga definitely stole the show (and rightfully so) at her roaring '20s themed birthday party on Saturday, March 26, Us Weekly reports. The pop star, who's actual 30th birthday is Monday, March 28, slicked back her striking platinum blonde hair and donned a bold red lip for the bash. Kinney, 34, looked dapper as ever in a slick black suit next to his leading lady.
Ok, enough about what they wore and on to the important stuff. Here's the deal: Gaga and Kinney, who got engaged on Valentine's Day last year, were photographed wearing matching gold bands at this crazy birthday party, with Gaga's gold band in place of her usually always-present heart-shaped engagement ring. While she might just be mixing up her jewelry and trying different Mrs.-worthy accessories (hey, we wouldn't put it past her), the fact that Kinney was spotted wearing a gold band on his ring finger is a huge sign pointing to their newly married status. Right?!
Gaga told Ryan Seacrest earlier this month that she was hoping to have a low-key, "family-style" wedding to Kinney. "We are not planning anything that is worth writing about," she said. Although, in January news was reported that the pop star planned to tie the knot abroad, with a source telling Page Six that Gaga, born Stefanie Germanotta, wants to celebrate her Italian roots by planning her wedding in the Italian countryside. Could this "source" have been throwing the paparazzi off the scent of a stateside wedding? Or perhaps these two will jet off to Italy for a second wedding reception.
Despite all the unknowns surrounding this maybe married twosome, one thing is for certain: Secret weddings are definitely the sign of true celebrity in Hollywood. If Gaga and Kinney did tie the knot in a clandestine wedding recently, they will have joined the ranks of other celebrity couples who married in secret, like Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher (their rustic glamping wedding was the ultimate hush-hush celebration) and, most recently, Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston, who had a wedding so secret that the guest dress code was a serious issue.
