This award season Lady Gaga has not only been racking up awards for her role in A Star Is Born, but she has also received recognition for her impeccable style choices. And her 2019 Oscars look was no different.
Gaga wore a stunning black Alexander McQueen gown for the occasion Sunday night. The dress featured a drop waist, dramatic hips and a full skirt, reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn's Breakfast at Tiffany's look. The nominated singer accessorized the dress with long black leather gloves and a famous piece of jewelry: Around her neck sat a stunning Tiffany & Co necklace that features one of the largest yellow diamonds in the world. This historic and massive canary yellow gem is a cool 128.54 carats, and has apparently only been worn two times before this—last by Hepburn herself. The necklace itself has been updated by Tiffany's for a more modern appearance.
While this look is absolutely showstopping, it’s no surprise it's not as blatantly bridal as some of Gaga’s hits from earlier this award season. Just days leading up to the Oscars, news broke that after two years of dating she and talent agent Christian Carino called off their engagement. Her look Sunday night would be perfect, though, for a dramatic, chic bride looking for an alternate to a traditional white gown.
Earlier in the award season, Gaga walked the red carpet with Carino in some gowns that made her look like she was heading straight to the altar. For the Golden Globes in January Gaga turned heads in a something-blue Valentino ball gown. The strapless dress was complete with over-the-top sleeves and a long train.
The couple spurred rumors of a breakup when Gaga arrived at the Grammys earlier this month sans both Carino and her engagement ring. Her silver dress, however, still gave us all those wedding after party vibes.
