After months of keeping her relationship on the DL, Lady Gaga has finally confirmed her engagement to her talent agent, Christian Carino. On Monday night, the singer spoke at the 25th Elle Women in Hollywood event at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, thanking her "fiancé" during her on-stage speech. But even though the singer has previously kept her engagement low-key, she hasn't been shy about showing off her gorgeous engagement ring—a massive pink stone that she's worn on her ring finger since the summer, when Carino reportedly proposed after asking Lady Gaga's father, Joe Germanotta, for his blessing.
According to jeweler Andrew Brown, President of WP Diamonds, the ring totes a price tag just as huge as its large center stone. "Lady Gaga's spectacular ring appears to be a six to seven carat pink sapphire with a diamond halo, totaling three to four carats. This is likely a high quality, no heat (treatment), pink sapphire," Brown told E! News in an interview. "It looks like it may be a padparadscha sapphire, in which case this ring would easily retail between $300,000 and $400,000."
Padparadscha sapphires are reportedly one of the rarest sapphires in the world, making them sought after by the world's elite and those who want a truly unique engagement bauble. The newly married Princess Eugenie also wears a pink padparadscha sapphire engagement ring from her now-husband, Jack Brooksbank. "Why I loved it so much is it changes color from every different angle that you look at it, which is what I think of Eugenie," Brooksbank told BBC during the couple's first post-engagement joint interview.
"She changes color, and it's just so amazing."
Looks like this ring isn't just fit for Hollywood royalty like Lady Gaga, but actual royalty as well!
