Whenever Lady Gaga arrives to a red carpet, it’s always a lot to take in (the Mother Monster is known for her head-turning, statement-making ensembles). The 2018 Grammy Awards were no exception, but it was Gaga’s accessories—specifically, a ring on that finger—that gave her fans the most to buzz about.
The six-time Grammy Award winner, who is nominated for both Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance this year, arrived to the awards show wearing an Armani Privé black lace jumpsuit and dramatic black skirt, featuring a sky-high slit and massive train (that onlookers reported took three people to carry). Gaga, who also performed at the Grammys, accessorized the look with fishtail braids laced with black string, a sparkling black smoky eye, skeleton earrings, a slithering snake ring, and a massive pink diamond ring surrounded by a halo of smaller white diamonds. And while her entire look was cause for conversation, it was the pink ring in particular that led her Little Monsters to wonder whether the artist is actually engaged to boyfriend Christian Carino.
Thinking engagement at the sight of a diamond ring (even if it is on that finger) is a bit of a stretch—but there are more supporting facts to the argument. For starters, the pink-hued ring seems slightly out of place with her other darker accessories, leading us to believe that she’s wearing it for a particular reason. Additionally, it’s not the first time Gaga’s been spotted sporting the diamond stunner: She’s been wearing it since at least December. Most recently, Gaga was seen wearing the ring on Saturday night while enjoying a romantic pre-Grammys date with Carino.
This latest ring sighting is hardly the first time that Gaga and Carino have sparked engagement rumors, though. Back in November, reports surfaced that the couple, who have been dating just under a year, actually became engaged over the summer. Neither Gaga nor Carino have commented on the rumored engagement.
Lady Gaga was previously engaged to actor Taylor Kinney, with the two calling it quits back in July 2016.
