After 5 years of dating, Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney have officially called of their engagement.
Rumors started swirling this week about the famous couple after Mother Monster was seen vacationing in Cabo with friends without her engagement ring on, according to People. And a source revealed to TMZ that the pair actually split earlier this month.
There is no news yet on why this beloved pair has called it quits, but people are starting to notice that for the past few months, neither of them has really spoken or posted much about the other on social media. In fact, the last big news about them was probably a few months ago when they had sex on a canvas while covered in paint, took a selfie, and it was the cover photo for V Magazine. (Though, let's be honest, anyone who knows Gaga wouldn't consider a story like this too out of the ordinary.)
What is even more heartbreaking about this news is that this comes after they were pretty far into planning their wedding. We previously reported that they were planning a romantic wedding in Italy with the help of her closest female relatives, and that Kinney, known for his roles on Chicago Fire and The Vampire Diaries, wasn't really a part of the wedding planning process at all. He told Entertainment Tonight that when it came to wedding details, the only thing he cared about was "Just food. Just good food." (Spoken like a typical groom!)
The couple started dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of her "You & I" music video, and broke up for a month in 2012. The couple got engaged on Valentines Day in 2015, when Kinney popped the question with a huge heart-shaped diamond engagement ring, designed by Lorraine Schwartz, that Gaga later debuted on Instagram. They celebrated their engagement at Gaga's family's restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, located on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
Though more details about the shocking split are sure to come within the coming weeks, there are two things that we can't help but wonder; will she be returning her gorgeous engagement ring and whether or not they will be sharing custody of their adorable French bull dogs, Koji and Miss Asia? Ugh, we need answers!
