Lady Gabriella Windsor’s First Kiss Was Hilariously Photobombed

There are a lot of words one think to use when picturing a first kiss at a wedding—romantic, for one. Special, perhaps. Memorable, surely. Hilarious? Not so much.

Yet, that’s exactly what Lady Gabriella Windsor and husband Thomas Kingston had at their royal wedding on Saturday, May 18, when they sealed the deal with a lip lock on the steps of St. George’s chapel at Windsor Castle—all thanks to one very expressive page boy!

In a snap captured by royal photographer Chris Jackson, the little tyke can be seen standing behind the newlyweds, his mouth agape as the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent (a.k.a. Prince William and Harry’s second cousin) shares a smooch with her new husband.

Two of the flower girls were also pictured in the iconic photo, though their reactions were slightly more ... demure, making the little lad the star of the show.

The couple, who got engaged in September 2018, said their “I dos” in a gorgeous ceremony at the same spot Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did exactly one year prior.

The bride wore a stunning Luisa Becceria gown with a boat neckline and a delicate, embroidered lace overlay that was marked by an exquisite, flowing train for the affair. She paired her dress with an intricate tiara—once worn by her grandmother on her own wedding day—in a sweet nod to her family.

The nuptials were attended by Queen Elizabeth II herself, as well as Kingston’s ex, Pippa Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice, and Prince Harry, who took time out from his new dad duties to make a surprise appearance.

We also got a look at the couple’s jaw-dropping cake, thanks to the Queen’s cousin Flora Alexandra Ogilvy, who shared a snap of the bride and groom preparing to cut their magical eight-tier (!) confection.

As seen in a video posted by Hello! magazine, Lady Gabriella gave a speech of gratitude to guests at the nuptials explaining why she wanted to marry in the same locale as Harry and Meghan: “Thank you so much for making all of this possible,” she said in the clip. “Both at beautiful St. George’s chapel, and here at Frogmore, a place so filled with charm and history throughout the paths of its enchanting gardens. It is particularly meaningful to me as my grandparents, who I never had the chance to meet, are buried here.”
