Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone, who starred on season five of the Bachelor in Paradise, are planning to get married later this year—but first, they celebrated their engagement with a blowout so lavish that their guests thought it was a surprise wedding.

The couple spoke to E! News and shared that over the weekend, they hosted an engagement party that they described as "rustic with a touch modern." Nielson (who was busy wedding dress shopping when we last checked in) wore an intricate white gown for the festivities, held at California's popular 40-acre wedding venue Ethereal Gardens. It's no wonder people thought these two were actually tying the knot.

"Everyone thought it was a surprise wedding," Randone said. "That's what everyone couldn't stop talking about because it felt like a wedding."

Nielson added, "The venue really blew our minds away with how they put it together. It was very enchanting. Being there [and] having our loved ones travel so far to celebrate our engagement really meant the world to us."

It's clear that they pulled out all of the stops: Nielson said that they got a huge party bus to take their friends to beautiful bath houses to prep for the big event, and then they threw a champagne hour as they welcomed guests. Randone also said that they set up a ton of games—including corn hole and human-size Jenga—for attendees, and the couple also made sure all the food reflected their healthy values.

"Vegan, gluten-free options were really important," he said. "We wanted people to not feel guilty while indulging."

Plus, the party was even attended by a few other Bachelor alumni, including Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert, Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon, among others. The goal, Nielson explained, was to show everyone a good time.

"Ultimately, we just wanted to create a beautiful experience. We wanted to give an enchanting night to all of our loved ones and have a good night," Nielson said.

It was definitely elaborate, and now we can't wait to see how they're going to top themselves when the wedding rolls around.
