She's played a teen detective, a Disney princess, and a woman trying desperately to get into the Good Place, but Kristen Bell's best role is actually that of relationship guru. The actress showed off her skills on Valentine's Day, when she posted a list of pieces of marriage advice on Instagram and proved that she has a future in marriage counseling—if, against all odds, her incredibly busy and successful acting career ever stops working out.

Bell explained in the caption of the post that she came up with the list after a fan reached out to ask her to write a note to a soon-to-be married couple. "I wrote something congratulatory but then thought 'Kristen! Wait! You are an old married woman, shouldn't you have some wisdom to share?!' After I was finished I realized what I wrote is pretty much the A-Z of how [husband Dax Shepard] and I keep our relationship healthy. [It's] worked for us so far, so here ya go," she wrote. The advice itself is pretty spot-on: "In 10 [years], when the dopamine has waned, remember: Life is a crazy ride.

It's a privilege to go through it with a partner," one part reads. "Loving someone despite their faults, failings, or character defects, is the most powerful, loving thing you can do," says another.

As the 37-year-old said, this advice has definitely served her and Shepard well. They started dating in 2007, got engaged in 2009, and waited until marriage equality was legalized before getting married in a small courthouse ceremony in 2013. The duo, who are parents to daughters Lincoln, 4, and Delta, 3, have always been upfront about all the effort they put into making their relationship work. Last fall, in an interview on Harry, Bell described how she and Shepard learned to argue in a constructive way.

"We fight beautifully," she said. "We actually disagree about 99 percent of the things on the planet, but we have an ultimate respect for each other. And he sort of said, 'No, we're allowed to disagree. You just can't be, like, crazy when we're fighting.'"

Later on Wednesday, Bell posted on Instagram once again in praise of her own Valentine. "To the man who I've known for an eternity yet learn new things about everyday; who has been with me through thick and thin (and loved my 47 lbs of baby weight); who is as interested in PDA as I am; who tattooed my last name on his ring finger because he hates jewelry; who always puts up our Xmas lights; and who never fails to mock my red carpet pose. I love u with my whole [heart]," she captioned a series of alternately hilarious and adorable photos of her and Shepard.
