Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West's fourth anniversary is coming up next month, and, being the Wests, they're bound to do something spectacular for their special day. Thankfully, we won't have to wait a whole month to find out what it is. During her Monday appearance on The Ellen Show, Kardashian West revealed exactly what she has in mind to commemorate her and her husband's four years together.
"You know, we're really into taking trips these days," the reality TV star told Ellen DeGeneres. "You know, I think it would be really good to take one with just the two of us. A house full of three kids is wild. Like, I can't even explain it. So I think it would be really good to..."
"Like a weekend trip?" asked DeGeneres.
"Yeah, some place," replied Kardashian West.
When asked if West would like it if she surprised him with a plane and an impromptu getaway, however, the makeup mogul made it clear that she wouldn't be the one taking care of all the logistics. "Oh yeah, but his birthday is the next week, so I feel like he should do anniversary, I'll do his birthday, that's a good trade," she said. "I'll just remind him that it's our anniversary."
If West is doing the planning, then she can definitely expect an over-the-top amount of white roses, which seems like a tradition of sorts for the rapper. Last year, for the couple's third anniversary, West gifted his wife literal mountains of the romantic blossoms, just as he did for Valentine's Day a couple months before, and Mother's Day in 2015.
Despite the opulent gift, though, the couple kept it surprisingly low-key for the anniversary itself. "We just did absolutely nothing [for our anniversary]," Kardashian West told Allure last year. "We spent two days in Santa Barbara, and we slept."
"You know what? I think we went to IHOP," she added. "That's what we did."
It's a huge departure from the couple's maximalist wedding, which Kardashian West commemorated with a throwback blog post for their third anniversary. For KimYe's opulent big day, they shelled out a reported $2.8 million for private jets to Florence, a ceremony at Forte di Belvedere, a rehearsal dinner at Versailles, two wedding dresses (a custom couture Givenchy gown, then a custom pearl-embellished Balmain minidress), performances from John Legend, Andrea Bocelli, Lana Del Rey, and Big Sean, and, of course, the wall of white roses that started it all.
If the couple returns to form, though, they could very well end up picking somewhere lavish for their fourth anniversary trip. Who knows, maybe they'll run into a honeymooning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?
