After Kim Kardashian West's Paris robbery and husband Kanye West's public mental breakdown in late 2016, the couple's marriage was held by a thread. But according to a source close to the couple, they've managed to put in the work to move past their martial issues and have been on a smoother track in recent months. Now, a few months after being hospitalized, the rapper is doing much better and allegedly "can't stop talking" about Kim, even calling her the "sweetest thing."
“They went through a really rough time there for awhile,” a source close to Kanye told People. “It was really touch and go. She was dealing with the robbery and all that came after, and she felt like he wasn’t there for her. He was going through his issues around the holidays, and he felt like she wasn’t prioritizing him.”
The very much publicized traumatic events led to a strain in their marriage. “It was like for the first time, they just weren’t happy. I don’t think they were happy separately, and I know they weren’t happy together.”
Of course, fans need not worry about an impending split, because it looks like Kimye is here to stay. “It’s like the two of them were dangling on a rope off a cliff, and they used every single thing they had to find solid ground,” the source continued. “They clawed their way back to somewhere a lot more healthy, and they’re still clawing their way back. There are good days and there are bad days.”
Since mid-December, Kim and Kanye, who share children North 3, and Saint,1, have attended individual therapy—Kim to cope with her terrifying armed robbery and Kanye to better cope with stress following his scary hospitalization.
“Kim and Kanye are in a great place,” the source pledged. “They are just so happy. He’s doing really great.”
