As we wait patiently for Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner to confirm their, ahem, alleged pregnancies, we finally know more details about one Kardashian baby on the way! As you know, Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West are currently expecting their third child via surrogate, and according to a new report, the couple will welcome their little bundle of joy right before the holiday season. According to Us Weekly, Kimye's newest addition is "due before Christmas." The source close to the couple continued, revealing Kimye maintains “regular contact with” the woman carrying their child.
Kardashian-West officially revealed the news of their bundle in a season 14 trailer for Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “We’re having a baby!” she told her sisters via FaceTime. The woman whom the famous family has reportedly chosen is in her late 20s and has served as a surrogate for other couples in the past. Thus, the standard contractual stipulations she's bound to as a surrogate—like no drinking/smoking/drugs, no hot tubs or saunas, no raw fish, no hair dye, and even not touching cat litter—should be a piece of cake.
The Wests, who are already parents to North, four, and Saint, one, experienced placenta accreta, a life-threatening condition in which the placenta fails to properly detach from the uterus during birth, during their first two pregnancies. A doctor has since warned the reality star that it would not be safe for her to carry a third child, and she previously opened up about the painful process on her website. “My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful!!!”
According to TMZ, the couple will pay $45,000 to the surrogate over the course of 10 months (plus $5,000 if there are multiple births) in addition to handing over a $68,850 deposit to the agency that facilitated the process.
