With a birthday and the return of her hit television show, we'd say that Kerry Washington is having the best week ever! The Scandal star gushed about her current state of happiness and how much of it is due to her six-month-old daughter Isabelle on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week.
"Life is really great. You know, little girl at home, it's great," Washington said during the interview. Baby Isabelle is the actress's first daughter with her husband of a year and a half, former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha. (The couple tied the knot at a hush-hush ceremony in Hailey, Idaho in 2013.)
And though the star's birthday falls on the weekend of the Superbowl, Washington isn't worried about her big day getting overshadowed by the sports event. "There have been a couple years where it has been perfect alignment and I feel like the whole nation is partying for me," she told Kimmel. "You can't tell I'm an only child, can you?" Leave it to TV's resident fixer to turn any situation in her favor!
The actress didn't reveal how she and her husband plan to celebrate her special day, but she did open up about her thoughts on birthday gifts. "I tend to send something to my parents. I feel like they did all the work. I just came out," joked Washington. "And I like to put something inappropriate on the card like, 'Thanks for getting it on.'" Hilarious! If she ever gives up on the suspense and drama of Scandal, we think she would be perfect for comedy.
