If you were expecting this country star to tie the knot down in "My Old Kentucky Home," you'd be sorely mistaken. Kelsea Ballerini isn't even from Kentucky! The country songstress originally hails from Tennessee, but a hometown wedding just isn't for this bride-to-be. Ballerini is actually planning a destination wedding with her fiancé Morgan Evans—and she's dishing on all the big day details!
Since getting engaged in December of 2016, Ballerini has been rocking her bride-to-be status and a pretty epic engagement ring to match. "This morning, 9 months and 13 days later, he got down on one knee in the kitchen while I was burning pancakes and asked me to marry him," the singer captioned her particularly-precious engagement-ring selfie, featuring her blinding cushion-cut bling and her fiancé, an Australian country music singer. "Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life," she continued. "And now I get to do it for life. #HECALLEDDIBS."
Now, with almost a year-long engagement under their collective belt, Ballerini and Evans are well into wedding planning and are seriously spilling those deets. "We’re getting married somewhere where people have to travel,” Ballerini told Us Weekly, also noting that she and Evans have actually opted out of compiling a gift registry. "So that is the gift, is people being there," she explained.
And with a major pre-wedding milestone—Ballerini's bridal shower—already celebrated, this bride-to-be is getting closer and closer to the big day. "Everyone did something different and made it look like a Pinterest party. It was beautiful," Ballerini said of the bridal bash. "We did the 'Make a Wedding Dress Out of Toiler Paper' game, which is hilarious," she continued. “Then they found this game, it was so cute, where they had Morgan record answers via video and they would ask a question and I would have to guess what he was gonna say and then his video would play. It was really fun. I got one wrong!"
All-in-all, it sounds like this bride's journey to the altar couldn't be any sweeter. "You know it’s funny, I’m not a wedding person,” Ballerini revealed. "I didn’t think I would be a wedding person, so my mom and my bridesmaids and my stylist surprised me with a fitting and I walked in and put something on and then walked out and I started crying and so we picked the dress!"
Now all that's left to do is say "I do!"
