Katy Perry Caught the Bouquet at Her Brother's Wedding, and Her Reaction Is Quite Unexpected

The singer actually ran away

For most female wedding guests during the traditional bouquet toss, elbowing through the masses and triumphantly catching the coveted flower arrangement is a cause for communal celebration. But, not so much for Katy Perry.

The singer attended brother David's wedding over the weekend and had quite the “Hot n Cold” reaction to wrapping her hands around the bride's bouquet. Perry took to Instagram on Valentine's Day yesterday to showcase the bouquet toss and her rather unusual response. By the looks of it in the video, Perry didn't have much competition, with only a few other guests vying to grab the bride's florals. While Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” played, the bride pitched the bouquet over her shoulder, Perry grabbed hold...and then ran off into the night like her life depended on it.

Yes, that's right—rather than sticking around with the other potential bouquet catchers and earning congratulations (or dirty looks from jealous attendants), Perry immediately fled the scene. Sporting a pink slip dress, she quickly hurried away from the crowd, clutching the bouquet over her head and leaving friends and family staring after her in confusion. But, the “Chained to the Rhythm” singer was a good sport after reflecting on her sudden behavior, joking about running away from love.

“When you crave companionship but run from love when you get it 💁🏼‍♀️❤️#happymadeupholidayofforcedlove #ilovemyself #iloveyoutoo,” she captioned the post. Unsurprisingly, the comedic video has received over a million views.

Many Perry fans tagged her former flame, Orlando Bloom, in the comments, as if this hinted at some sort of reconciliation between the pair. The couple originally kicked their romance off at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016, then went #RelationshipOfficial shortly after. While we were sure they were headed down the aisle (Perry was even seen sporting a diamond ring on that finger), she and Bloom called it quits in February 2017. There's no word on whether the two stars might be rekindling their romance ( but, it wouldn't be the first time...).

Despite the fact that she ran from it, we hope this memorable catch means that love will soon be in the air for Katy Perry (preferably from Orlando Bloom).
