Since Kate Middleton became a mother of three in 2018, we can only imagine her life has been taken over by mom and royal duties alike. But amongst her various responsibilities, the Duchess and her husband, Prince William, still found time to slip away from it all, even just for an afternoon. While on a recent visit to the English Lake District, the royal couple took some time to enjoy each other's company over afternoon tea. And lucky for use, there are pictures to prove it.
The pair spontaneously stopped at the Inn on the Lake in Ullswater in Cumbria for some much needed alone time after a recent public engagement. Shocked at the surprise, representatives from the Inn posted photos from the royal date on Instagram with the caption, "We had two VERY special guests stop by today! 😱🤩 Our Sales Manager Teresa and Dani, one of our Hotel Directors both had the pleasure of meeting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! Oh and some small guests came along too ☺️."
The photos show Kate and William being greeted by hotel employees and chatting with children, as well as the couple waving to a crowd. A spokesperson for the hotel told Hello! all about the couple's quick romantic getaway. "It was quite a short break," the spokesperson said. "They came and had afternoon tea with us at the Inn on the Lake." Prince William also supposedly commented on the beautiful view of the lake from their hotel room and that they hope to come to the hotel again during a future visit.
Kate and William have been very much in love lately, and we just can't get enough. They showed off some PDA at Buckingham Palace's second garden party of the year on May 22. Kate even honored her husbands late mother, Princess Diana, by wearing one of her tiara's to a state dinner on June 3. Here's to hoping their next spontaneous date includes their three children, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1, because the only thing sweeter than seeing William and Kate's love on display is seeing the couple with their kids!
